The Uganda Society of Architects (USA) has recalled stamps of its deceased members that had remained in circulation, and were possibly being used by unscrupulous individuals to issue fake authority for architectural plans prepared under the deceased members’ names.

A statement issues by the USA Secretary Arch. Catherine Muyinda said, “We would like to inform the public that the following members of the Society are deceased…We request anyone in possession of these members’ stamps to return them to our Secretariat on 3rd Floor, Bible House on Bombo Road, Kampala.”

The statement further cautioned the public not to be duped to accept plans imprinted with the deceased members stamps. “The public is duly informed that the stamps of these members aren’t valid for use on any document.”

Architects use their professional stamps as their signature, authority, certification and validation of works they have undertaken. Any plan without an architect’s valid stamp is not legally.

The 26 deceased architects include: Dr. Anthony Lubega, Sing Ajunal Tarlochan, Henry William Ssentoongo, Appolonaris Kizito, Maurice Lubowa, Anthony George Ssozi, Peter Kamya, Collins Sterling Marcellus, Paul kikule Lwebuga, Patrick Tempest Robarts, Joel K. Katerega, George Ssendiwala and Olusola Kehinde Adebanjo.

The others are Samuel Kikuba, Eglon Kiyimba Kagwa, Peter Lwazi Sseyonga, Mubarak Silim Nahdy, Samuel Kwesegamu, James Esau Okema, Elijah Julius Mawejje, Duncan Kasozi, Karl A. BR. Siebertz, Hebert Byabagambi, Musa Masagazi Lukwago, Eric Samuel Kizito and Doreen Adengo.
